Walk On, CrossWalk!

The CrossWalkers headed out nice and early this morning. They'll walk on through Hereford to continue their journey to D.C. Keep them in your prayers - they've still got a long way to go.

There are some great photos of their stay with us! Go to the CrossWalk Blog to see! I'll leave a link to that site on the left-hand side under "links" so you can continue to follow their progress.

Special thanks to everyone who contributed to their stay - the food, the beds, the love. They were truly overwhelmed by our generosity and hospitality. I don't ever want you to forget how amazing you really are - you are a unique jewel in this world.

I'm so very proud of you,
Tracy

Prayer Update

I saw Jo Hamrick today. She is slowly improving physically, but her spirits could use a boost. Please send her a card or give her a call:

Jo Hamrick, Room I7
Bivins Rehab Center
1001 Wallace Blvd.
Amarillo, TX 79106

her direct line in her room is 468-2066

Glen Cash had surgery yesterday. He is in Northwest Hospital, Room 540. He should be there for a week or so, then back to Triumph.

How Brave Are You?

The time has come . . . du-dum, du-dum, du-dum. . who's brave enough to discuss The DaVinci Code with us?? If you dare . . . Join us on the next two Wednesdays: May 24 and 31, 7 p.m. We'll see the movie, discuss the book, and try to understand what all the fuss is about!

Not for the faint of heart!
Tracy

CrossWalk America

Please remember that our walkers from CrossWalk will arrive at the church at 6 p.m. on Saturday. You're invited to share a fajita and some fellowship with them. They'll be worshipping with us on Sunday morning, with one of their ministers, Eric, bringing the message. (He's even agreed to come help me teach the Dead Sea Scrolls at Forum - aren't we glad!)

The Clarks, The Henrys, and The Nolands will be housing these wonderful folks - prayers are appreciated!

The group will leave from the church at 6 a.m. on Monday to continue their journey. If you're an early riser, you might consider meeting at the church to "send them off!"

Blessings on your Wednesday,
Tracy

Summer Calendar

The Summer Calendar will soon be filling with activities for the church. A couple of items for you to add to your calendar now:

Our Wednesday Group is almost finished with our scrapbooks. We want to issue an invitation to anyone who wants to join us for our next study. We're reading The DaVinci Code, and we'll see the movie together! There are copies of the book available at the church for $5. Pick up a book and get busy reading. We'll discuss both on the 24th and 31st of May - so join us if you're interested! We'll most likely be taking a break for the summer.

We'll be sharing Vacation Bible School with First Baptist again. Mark your calendars for the last week in June: Sunday - Thursday, June 25-29. This year it's a Fiesta Theme! We'll need lots of workers for lots of jobs - sign up now!

Watch for more events in the upcoming days - Children's Camp and other fun activities!

Prayer Update

You'll notice we've added the Minzaks to the prayer list. Tom is Jack and Delphene's son-in-law. This last week he donated a kidney to his brother, Ed. During the transplant it was discovered that the kidney had a malignant tumor on it. They removed the tumor and transplanted the kidney anyway.

Now both brothers are faced with what to do next. Tom must undergo further tests to see if this was the only tumor, or if his other kidney is affected. Ed must decide whether to keep the kidney or go on a list for another one.

Please keep all of them in your prayers,
Tracy

For Sunday

Thanks to the crew who gave us such a great sausage dinner - it was (burp!) DELICIOUS!!

Don't forget that this coming Sunday is First Sunday and Communion Sunday. The Food Pantry always needs our donations of canned food items, so please bring some this Sunday.

Our weekend with Cross Walk America is getting closer. If you haven't taken a moment to look at their website, please do - I think you'll find it very interesting and informative.

I can't wait to worship with you this Sunday!
Tracy
