Will it rain on Wednesday?

It's a beautiful morning . . . I wonder if it will rain?

We've been invited by the pastor of First Baptist to join their church this Sunday evening, 7 - 9 p.m., for a picnic and swim at the Aquatic Center.

This Sunday is Communion Sunday! Don't forget to bring those canned goods for The Hereford Food Pantry.

We are learning a lot during our study of The Book of Revelation, and this week things start to get a little strange. Join us as we discuss chapters 4 and 5, a visit to the Throne Room. I'll see you at 9:30!

Next Wednesday at 10 a.m. it's our turn to serve communion at Hereford Care Center at 10 a.m. It's always a blessing . . . I hope you'll be there.

Looking toward Sunday's sermon, I was intrigued by this article on "The Shrinking Middle Class." Read it and tell me what you think!

Proud to be your pastor,
Tracy

Thankful This Thursday

It's been a great week of Vacation Bible School and I have much for which to be thankful!

I'm thankful for everyone who contributed food to the Hospitality Room - it was well received and VERY appreciated!

I'm thankful to our great hostesses - oops!, I mean hosts! - Chubby and Wendel who worked in the Hospitality Room and represented us well.

I'm thankful to Annie, Brandi, Merle, and Rob for being such super teachers for us this year!

I'm thankful that Aaron, Anna, and Hagen got to attend VBS, one that their church helped provide for them.

Mos of all, I'm thankful that our church values children and that no matter how many or how few of them we have, we keep working to provide ministries for them. It matters. It matters a lot.

Book Group! The copies of Bitsy's Bait and BBQ are at the church. Get yours now, read it all the way through, and then we'll gather to discuss it on TUESDAY, AUGUST 10 at 7 p.m. That should give you plenty of time to read and love this wonderful book!

This Sunday we'll review a little of what the kids learned in Vacation Bible School by going back to the beginning, at least, the beginning for Nicodemus. Read John 3 and be ready to "Get It!"

The Book of Revelation is our current study in Forum and this week we'll look at chapters 2 and 3. I'll see you at 9:30 Sunday!

Keep growing,
Tracy

Happy Hump Day!

Hope all of you are doing well on this Wednesday. Can you believe July is already half over?

We had a great beginning to our study of The Book of Revelation last Sunday. We went over all of the introductory material. This week we'll begin Chapter One. It's not too late to join us for this study in Forum. We meet every Sunday morning at 9:30.

Book Group! Copies of Bitsy's Bait & BBQ are beginning to arrive! We'll pass them out soon and I'll let you know when our discussion date will be. I love this book for its humor and also for the way it weaves faith into the story. Copies are $4, get yours now!

The Alzheimer's Support Group meets at the church tomorrow at 10 a.m. We've been hosting this group for a lot of years. I'm always amazed to find each month that the people who walk through the door are the ones who needed to be at that meeting. Alzheimer's continues to effect people we know and love; when you hear about someone who is caring for a loved one with this devastating disease, I encourage you to tell them about the Support Group and to offer to come with them to a meeting. You might just be the person who can stand with them when no one else will.

Special THANKS to everyone who agreed to provide food for the Hospitality Room for Vacation Bible School. If you need a reminder of what you agreed to bring (or meant to sign up and haven't) give Merle & Wendel a call. VBS is such an important ministry to our community. It's our way of saying to Hereford that we value children and their faith development. Please pray for VBS next week!

This Sunday's sermon returns to the kitchen of Mary and Martha to look in the cupboards one more time. Think you've heard this story told from every possible angle? Think there's nothing new for you to learn? I think I heard something new as I read the story this week . . . why don't you come Sunday and hear it too!

Your pastor and friend and friendly-pastor,
Tracy
