January News

Happy New Year!

A new study will begin in Forum this Sunday. Slated to last 8 weeks (or so), the study is of James Fowler's book Becoming Adult, Becoming Christian. It's an interesting study into adult spiritual development and it will look at things such as Fowler's "Stages of Faith." If you've ever wondered about maturity and Christianity, if you've ever wondered "what's next - how do I grow as a believer?" then you'll enjoy this study.

Our Wednesday Book Group will resume on the 17th of January. Our new book will be available this Sunday for $8.50. We're exploring a really challenging novel titled The Kite Runner. Set in Afganistan, this book explores issues of honesty and loyalty in the midst of a strict caste system of ethnic discremination. I've read the book and found it to be really moving - it's one that will stay with you long after you put it down. Too, it gives insight into the struggles of the Middle East, a hint to the depth of their plight. Please remember that this group is not for women only! If you want to join us, male or female, please come!

On the prayer front, Hagen Henderson continues to improve. They're doing another surgery on his foot tomorrow (Thursday). He continues to be heavily sedated to keep him calm and to allow him to heal. Continue to remember his family.

Also, please remember the family of Ray Lee. Ray is Dicie Ryan's grandson - his funeral was yesterday (Tuesday). His young family will have significant struggles ahead.

It's been a good holiday and I'm eager to see you on Sunday - I hope you're there!
Tracy

Children's Handbells will take one more Sunday off - we'll resume on the 14th. Children's Sunday School will resume this week, 1/7.
