The Peaceable Kingdom
Today's sermon mentioned the famous painting of Edward Hicks. I wanted to give you a little more information about the painting. This is the version that hangs in the National Gallery of Art in Washington, DC:

Artcyclopedia gives links to several of the museums that have a version of Hick's Peaceable Kingdom.
Two really good articles about the paintings and how the subject transitioned throughout Hicks' lifetime can be found here and here. Finally, Wikipedia provides some good, basic information on Hicks as well as links to his other paintings, including The Cornell Farm, one of his last paintings and considered by some to be his best.
