Thursday Morning
A few things are on my mind this morning:
Continue to pray for Joe Henry. He's been in HRMC this week fighting pneumonia. He'll be released today to rest at home and he still needs our prayers.
Merle has her new cast on and is continuing to mend from her broken wrist.
Jack and Delphene are continuing his recuperation in Belton at their daughter's home. They'll be back in Hereford in a few weeks.
We heard Sunday that Bobby Owen has a broken arm. Bettye, too, is having some health issues. Please keep them in your prayers.
Book group resumed last night after the holiday break. We've just barely started the new book (see below), so if you want to join us, please do. For next week we need to read through page 80.
Continue to pray for our upcoming leadership change. And share a word of appreciation with Cliff and Natalie - they've done an excellent job for us this year!
Finally, I have some exciting news to share. We're going to have a Pastoral Intern this summer. Jaime Steiert McGlothlin has asked to spend the summer with us to learn and minister. She is a student at Truett Theological Seminary (Baylor) and an internship is part of their curriculum. Jaime, of course, is the daughter of Jim and Kerrie Steiert. She and I are already beginning to plan the summer and I think we're in for a great few months. She does not expect financial compensation in this arrangement, though I do hope we'll consider taking a love-offering for her at the end of the summer. I know you'll welcome Jaime warmly when she begins worshipping with us mid-May.
It's a busy time of year for everyone, but I am overjoyed at all the opportunities that are before us. If I haven't told you lately, please know how true it is that
I am so glad to be your pastor,
Tracy
