These shoes are taking me home

Hello everyone,

In case I did not get to share a hug with you on Sunday, My name is Jaime Steiert McGlothlin and I am mentoring at Fellowship of Believers this summer. I am at the end of the road of my time at Truett seminary in Waco, which my husband Andy and I call home. Andy works at the Methodist Children's Home in Waco and we attend Calvary Baptist Church. We have a yellow lab, Maggie, who would love to meet you this summer, too.

Thank you so much for your warm hospitality on Sunday morning and for already making FOB feel like home. Of course, I called Hereford home my first 18 years, so our time together is especially meaningful.

On Sunday, I shared that faith for me at this season feels quite like Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz. We have a road that we are traveling, often with new and interesting friends. We all bring a bit of brokenness, and special gifts to the journey. And ultimately, we are all just trying to get home.

I wake up every morning so thrilled for the gift of working with Tracy this summer and learning more together of how to walk this road as disciples of Jesus Christ. As my friend and mentor, Julie is fond of saying, "faith is learning how to give all you know of yourself to all you know of God." I can't think of a more exciting and meaningful journey than that.
