Mission Trip - Home Again
We're home again, finally. Exhausted but happy. We lost internet access Wednesday so we couldn't post - here's our final report.
Wednesday was a busy day at the worksite. We hung insulation and began drywalling. Jaime and Merle are planning on beginning their own cable home-improvement show - there's nothing those two can't do!

We also learned that praying for a big cloud to move over the worksite so that things will cool down enough for shingling isn't always a smart move: clouds often bring rain. Just as that cloud arrived, so did the rain. Shingling was out for the day and the youth on the trip headed home. Our group stayed with a few others and finished out the insulation.

We ended our trip with a trip to an authentic El Paso Restaurant Experience at Carlos & Mickey's. I'd tell you about it, but Jaime and Merle's version is much more entertaining - ask them about it!
Backpack report: On Sunday night we met with Pastor Crispin, the pastor of the congregation we partnered with for the backpacks. Our schedules were not going to coincide during the week for us to deliver the backpacks in person, so we gave them to him on Sunday night and he took care of delivering them. He'll be reporting back to us by email soon - I'll let you know what he says.
We're glad to be home and can't wait to go again. We'll share a Mission Trip Report in worship on Sunday, July 13th.
