"Let Your Life Speak"

Beginning August 17, we have a new book and emphasis for Forum and Worship.
Parker Palmer is an author and lecturer. But more than that, he is the founder of "The Center for Courage and Renewal," an educational non-profit that - through retreats and trainings - encourages people to reconnect "who they are with what they do."
In Forum, we will read and discuss Palmer's book A Hidden Wholeness: The Journey Toward an Undivided Life. Copies are available for $15. In worship we will seek to hear God's call upon us to "Let Our Lives Speak."
Palmer writes, "We hide our true identities from each other. In the process, we become separated from our own souls. We end up living divided lives, so far removed from the truth we hold within that we cannot know the 'integrity that comes from being what you are.'"
As God's call upon us to have a Bigger Faith moves us deeper into his world, we will find it necessary to live authentic lives, lives that are intent on honesty and openness. To respond in such a way is not easy, but it is vital to who we are and how God uses us. As the poet May Sarton writes,
Now I become myself.I invite you on this journey over the next ten weeks - the journey to discover your true calling.
It's taken time, many years and places.
I have been dissolved and shaken,
Worn other people's faces . . .
