Let's Start at the Very Beginning

"In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth."

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the word was God."

This Sunday morning at 9:30 a.m. we're going to start at the very beginning. Over the next six weeks we will discuss nothing less than the calling of God upon our church. I say "nothing less" because I can't imagine anything more important for us to discuss in these days.

And this Sunday our discussion will begin at the very beginning: "Who Is God?" "Who Is Jesus?" "How does God work in the world?" "How does God speak to us - individually, and as a church?" These will be the questions we discuss this Sunday.

Why is it important for us to talk about these things? Aren't these things we all agree upon? I suppose the answer will be "yes;" but our agreement on something doesn't make its discussion any less important.

In a very real sense, this discussion Sunday is foundational. Understanding who God is and how God works in the world is integral to understanding who the church is and what the calling is upon the church.

Put simply: if we cannot understand who God is, we will not understand who God is calling us to be.

These discussions will continue through November 23rd. I encourage you to participate in as many as you are able. We need you there. 9:30 Sundays.

The path God has asked us to walk is "The Narrow Way." I hope you'll join me on our journey,
Tracy
