Middle of the Week Musings

Guess what I learned in the "Better Living for Texans" class this morning! Did you know that if you bring in the ad for a product from another store, Walmart will match the price? You might end up saving not only a few dollars, but the price of gas to Amarillo to buy the item there, not to mention the extra money you'd spend while in Amarillo on eating out and other unplanned purchases. There's your helpful hint for the day! These classes are providing a wonderful benefit to our community. Thanks again to Merle, Lajean, Mike, and Jerry for making the arrangements.

This Sunday will be a communion Sunday at church. You know what that means: it's time to bring those groceries for the Food Pantry. Each month Sally is seeing an increase in the number of clients who need help with groceries. Everything we bring is urgently needed. Bring your grocery items this Sunday.

I don't know about you, but I had a WONDERFUL time at the spaghetti luncheon last Sunday! Thanks to the kitchen crew who, like always, did an outstanding job serving us. Excellent meatballs, Chris! The money we raise at each of these dinners this year is going toward our anniversary celebration next year. Be watching for details about the next luncheon.

The reading assignment for the Tuesday Book Group is pages 133-195. There are still copies available in the foyer of Same Kind of Different as Me. Even if you are unable to discuss the book with us, pick up a copy and read. Take Carolyn's recommendation: "This is a wonderful book!"

I hope you're planning to celebrate Easter with us on April 12th. The children are working on a very special contribution to worship for that Sunday. The Easter Egg hunt will be at 9:30 and worship will be at 10:30.

Be ready to wave your Palm Branch Sunday!
Tracy
