It's May Already???

Wow, this year is flying by! It's hard to believe the school year will be over in just a few days. It's time to make plans for summer activities around the church. On the sidebar to the left are the calendar events for this summer, including Youth Camp, Mission Trip, Vacation Bible School, and Children's Camp. Though young people are targeted in many of those events, adult help is needed for there to be great success. Please mark your calendars, and be watching for details about how you can help.

Special thanks to Trudy and Lajean and all the others who packed goody boxes for our servicemen this week. We've sent them wonderful reminders of our appreciation and support!

Lajean joined me this morning in serving communion at the Nursing Home next door. This is truly a wonderful ministry we've begun, and I find it to be particularly rewarding. Don & Mary Hilton have been leading a worship service every Wednesday at Hereford Care Center for over 10 years. This monthly commitment of ours seems small in comparison, but the residents are incredibly grateful. I hope you'll join me on Wednesday, June 3rd at 10 a.m. when we take communion to them again.

While we were there, we visited with Bobbye Riddle. She's getting a little stronger every day. Continue to pray for her, and for Clint Formby, and for all our members who are going through difficult circumstances.

Book Group: We will meet May 12th at 7 p.m. Remember, you're reading all of the "India" section of Eat, Pray, Love, pages 119-211.

This week our study of The Life of David turns to the well-known story of David and Goliath, I Samuel 17. We'll discuss the story in Forum and the sermon will be drawn from the scripture as well.

I pray that the rest of your week finds you pausing now and then and remembering that, as we were reminded Sunday, you are a delight in God's eyes!

Tracy
