Thursday Thoughts

I spent some time today with three of our good friends. Bobbye Riddle continues to recover at Hereford Care Center. She has good days and bad days, but she rejoices in the support of her family.

Charlie Williams has moved to Hereford Regional Medical Center to continue his recovery from his broken hip. He is in good spirits and glad to be back in Hereford. He's especially glad that Bess won't have to drive to Amarillo every day.

Clint Formby told me he's been at HRMC for over a month now, but his spirits remain high. Like the Clint we all know and love, he is thrilled to have visitors who'll listen to his stories. He's doing remarkably well and is grateful for all the cards, visits, phone calls, and good wishes.

Our story of David turns to 2 Samuel 11 and 12 this week, the story of David and Bathsheba. Author David Alter calls this "the great turning point of the whole David story." I hope you'll join us in worship and Forum as we discuss this important moment in David's life.

The Book Group will meet one last time next Tuesday to conclude their discussion of Eat, Pray, Love. We'll take the month of June off and return to reading later in the summer!

If you've been considering going on the Mission Trip, the deadline for signing-up is this Sunday. We'll leave Sunday June 21st, and will return Friday, June 25th. We're staying in dorm rooms and the cost of the week is $100. We'll mostly be doing painting on Habitat houses and for CrossRoads Church. Please let Tracy or Merle know if you want to go!

Don't forget! Alzheimer's Support Group meets tomorrow at 10 a.m.

I'll see you Sunday,
Tracy
