A Quick Hello From Camp

I miss you - and not just because it's hot and humid here. I am at Youth Camp this week. We camp with 15 churches around Texas and the ministers rotate the responsibilities of leadership. This year it was my turn to preach, and I am sharing with them the series of sermons I did for you in May on David. I'll be home on Friday and with you on worship Sunday.

I received word on Monday that Bobbye Riddle had to return to BSA. They are monitoring her condition, and are hopeful that she can continue her recovery process soon.

Next week is the Mission Trip. Merle, Anna, Aaron, and I will be joined by 7 adults and youth from First Hereford as we travel to Enid to work with Habitat for Humanity. We'll leave Sunday after worship. We hope you'll follow our progress on the blog. I'll hopefully be posting daily pictures and summaries.

Our camp musician for the week is Celia Whitler from Nashville. I hope one day we can have her in Hereford. She's a talented musician and also a mother, and her husband is her manager, so for this trip it was a family vacation. Her boys - Max and Zach - used to tell her "I love you a thousand!" She's not sure why they chose that number, but that was what they would say. Then it changed to "I love you a million." Then one day, again, she's not exactly sure why, they hugged her neck as they ran out the door and said,

"I love you like a chicken!"
Tracy
