Warming Up on Wednesday
Our friend Glen Cash has moved to a new facility in Amarillo. He's always happy to see a visitor and a card, I am sure, would really brighten his day. Why don't you send him a note and let him know you're thinking about him?
Glen Cash, Room 8
c/o Country Club Nursing and Rehab
9 Medical Drive
Amarillo, TX 79106-4194
Today is the service for Mack Weston at the Christ Community Fellowship in Vega at 2 p.m. Jack and Delphene would be so grateful for your attendance. If you want to send them a note, their address in Temple is
5708 Aberdeen Ct.
Temple, TX 76502
Men, prayer breakfast is just a few days, on Monday! And our next opportunity to serve communion at the Hereford Nursing and Rehab Center is a week from today, Wednesday March 3rd. Meet at the Nursing home at 10 (or a few minutes earlier if you want to help set it up), and we'll be done by 10:30. It's always a blessing; if you've never served, think about joining me on Wednesday.
Are you observing Lent this year? If so, how's it going? I find that these forty days can seem especially long, especially if we're missing that thing we chose to give up for Lent. What do you do when the desire to cave-in becomes great? Sometimes it just takes a change of focus. Look for something different to do, something that might benefit someone else. Getting the attention off of ourselves may be the greatest benefit of observing Lent.
On a personal, maternal note, I want to say thank you to everyone who bought cookie dough or pies or advertisement to benefit Anna's participation in Amarillo Girls Choir. She is counting down the days to her trip to Spain, where she'll perform in three different cathedrals as well as a plaza or two. The choir will be giving a going-away concert on Sunday at 3 p.m. at St. Stephen's United Methodist Church on Western in Amarillo. I can unbiasedly say that you'll be amazed at what these young women can do. Everyone is invited to attend, and admission is free. Above all, thank you again for your words of support and encouragement for Anna!
See you Sunday,
Tracy
