Finally Friday
Thank Goodness Friday is finally HERE! It's been a long week, hasn't it! I'm looking forward to being in worship with you on Sunday.
In worship Sunday we will wrap up our sermon series on Galatians, with Paul's encouraging word to the churches, which is found in Galatians 6:7-10. There's a word here for us, as well, so I encourage you to be in worship.
The Vacation Bible School meeting will be THIS SUNDAY at 4 p.m. at Cafe Yahweh at First Baptist Church. There's a great team of workers already assembling and we'll need more help to make VBS a success. VBS will be Sunday - Thursday, July 18-22 . . . just 3 weeks away! We will particularly need help in the Hospitality Room. Our nights to provide food will be Sunday and Monday.
Our discussion of The Book of Acts in Forum is coming to a close. What book shall we study next? I'm always open to suggestions! Bible Study is SO important. God's word, written thousands of years ago, is still speaking, still challenging, still encouraging. I hope you'll consider making 9:30 on Sundays an important part of your week!
Book Group! Copies of the latest read, Time is a River, are available at church! Pick one up, read it ALL the way through, and we will gather to discuss it on Tuesday, July 6th at 7 p.m. If you've never read with us, why not choose this book? It's a bargain. . . just $4!
Two new things will be happening at our church, beginning in the coming weeks, so here's the scoop:
We will be the hosting facility for a new ALANON group in Hereford every Thursday at 8 pm, beginning next Thursday, July 1st. We have been approached by some folks expressing a desire and need for such a meeting (which is a support group for family members and friends of people with alcohol addiction), and we are eager to be of help. Charlie Cobb and I will be the weekly facilitators. As you encounter people who might benefit from such a meeting, encourage them to come.
A new study is on its way to our church. “A Travel Guide” is designed for those who want a clear, simple explanation of the Christian faith. It answers questions like, “What can Jesus do for me that I can’t do for myself?” Watch for more information about when this study will begin.
Don't let the Summer Lazies slow you down; there's still plenty to do and plenty of people who need our love and help. God calls us all to minister . . . all of us!
See you Sunday,
Tracy
