Happy Hump Day!
Hope all of you are doing well on this Wednesday. Can you believe July is already half over?
We had a great beginning to our study of The Book of Revelation last Sunday. We went over all of the introductory material. This week we'll begin Chapter One. It's not too late to join us for this study in Forum. We meet every Sunday morning at 9:30.
Book Group! Copies of Bitsy's Bait & BBQ are beginning to arrive! We'll pass them out soon and I'll let you know when our discussion date will be. I love this book for its humor and also for the way it weaves faith into the story. Copies are $4, get yours now!
The Alzheimer's Support Group meets at the church tomorrow at 10 a.m. We've been hosting this group for a lot of years. I'm always amazed to find each month that the people who walk through the door are the ones who needed to be at that meeting. Alzheimer's continues to effect people we know and love; when you hear about someone who is caring for a loved one with this devastating disease, I encourage you to tell them about the Support Group and to offer to come with them to a meeting. You might just be the person who can stand with them when no one else will.
Special THANKS to everyone who agreed to provide food for the Hospitality Room for Vacation Bible School. If you need a reminder of what you agreed to bring (or meant to sign up and haven't) give Merle & Wendel a call. VBS is such an important ministry to our community. It's our way of saying to Hereford that we value children and their faith development. Please pray for VBS next week!
This Sunday's sermon returns to the kitchen of Mary and Martha to look in the cupboards one more time. Think you've heard this story told from every possible angle? Think there's nothing new for you to learn? I think I heard something new as I read the story this week . . . why don't you come Sunday and hear it too!
Your pastor and friend and friendly-pastor,
Tracy
