Friday Finale

It's been quite a week in the life of our church. I know the Formby family is incredibly grateful for all the words and kind gestures they have received from you. Please keep all of them in your prayers in the days and weeks to come.

RELAY FOR LIFE is just a week away! Our church will be selling ice cream as our fundraiser at the event, and we NEED ICE CREAM! Contact Charlie Cobb if you can provide some, and there's a sign-up at the church. Festivities begin at 6:30 p.m. at Dameron Park. I hope lots of you plan to be there to cheer on our walkers!

BOOK GROUP will meet this Tuesday at 7 p.m. to discuss Bitsy's Bait and BBQ. I hope to see you there - I can't wait to hear what you thought of this book!

Our discussion of The Book of Revelation is going strong in Forum. It's getting to the good parts . . . four horsemen are showing up this week! Why don't you join us? We meet at 9:30 on Sunday mornings.

Don't forget that ALANON meets in our building every Thursday at 8 p.m. Folks who need this group are finding their way there, and it's a crucial ministry to our community.

The Alzheimer's Support Group will be meeting on Thursday, August 19th, at 10 a.m. There is someone being diagnosed every day with this difficult disease, and the chances are very good that you know them. Tell them you'll come with them and be here on Thursday.

As I prepared this week for Sunday's sermon, I came across this Hindu Proverb. Ponder it with me as we walk toward Sunday:
Live in the past and you will be depressed. Live in the future and you will be anxious. Live in the present with gratitude and you will be at peace.

Grateful for you,
Tracy
