Touching Base on Tuesday

This Sunday's sermon will come from Isaiah's prophecy in chapter 65 that talks about the Lion and the Lamb. It's a wonderful picture of the creative power of God. As Martha Stern writes, "For people mired in regret or loss or sin, and for people ground down by oppression and the pain of living in bondage, what a message! Nothing is final; everything is up for grabs in the mystery of the creative capacity of God."
Our discussion of Spirituality got off to a great start last Sunday in Forum. There's still lots to learn and experience . . . why don't you join us this Sunday?
Don't forget! Coming up in December will be our strategic planning for the coming year. We will meet and discuss during the Forum time at 9:30 on December 5th, 12th, and 19th (if needed.) We'll also use this time to adjust our teams and get our assignments for the coming year. It takes all of us working together to accomplish the ministries of our church! Plan to be part of this planning time in December!
Speaking of December, it's hard to believe that Advent is right around the corner! We need a team of people to meet at the church on Sunday, November 21st to set-up the Christmas tree and decorate for the season! Many hands make light work!
Our Alzheimer's Support Group meets - not this week - but on Thursday, November 18th at 10 a.m. Lajean will be with us to share some information she has gleaned from attending some workshops in Amarillo. That same Thursday is our opportunity to host the Birthday Party at King's Manor. Lois Jones will be heading that activity - speak with her if you want to help!
As the holidays fast approach remember that our calling doesn't diminish just because we're busy. We need you in church and the community needs you loving and giving.
Proud to be your pastor,
Tracy
