Mark your Calendars
Two things to remember for the coming week!
SUNDAY is communion Sunday! Don't forget to bring your canned food items for the Hereford Food Pantry.
Monday, March 7th, 6:30 am is Men's Prayer Breakfast. Guys, don't miss this time of fellowship and male bonding!
Yesterday Chubby and Wendel took the clothes from our Clothes Closet up to Red Cross for the victims of the Fires. We had lots of gently used items in there that weren't being utilized, so we sent them where they could be used. Continue to pray for all the families now homeless from the fires.
Book Group met last night and had a VERY LIVELY discussion of The Great Gatsby. The next book, Major Pettigrew's Last Stand, is available at the church for $10. We'll discuss it on April 5th. It's sure to be a lighter read than the Gatsby was, so why don't you pick up a copy and join us? We always have lots of fun when we discuss together, and we'd love to have you there.
The Season of Lent begins a week from today on Ash Wednesday, March 9th. What will be your Lenten Discipline this year? Will you give up something? Will you take on a new healthy practice? Will you write a note of encouragement each day to someone who needs it? Lent gives us 40 days to change our lives for the better, to focus our attention on Christ. How will you do that this year?
My prayer is that you are finding a way this week to be Christ to someone. Have you found that hand that needs holding?
